POSITION OPENINGS:             1 (12 Month contract)

ROLE:

Under the direction of the Manager, Marketing and Sales Effectiveness the Marketing Specialist will play a key role in the development and execution of integrated marketing promotion/communication plans for corporate, product, training, events, services and initiatives and co-ordinates the development of related sales and marketing collateral.  The Marketing Specialist will liaise with customers and key stakeholders to define goals and objectives, determine appropriate promotion strategies and measure, evaluate and report on outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, develops integrated marketing promotion/communication plans for assigned key corporate initiatives/events and product, program and services.
  • Work with stakeholders to establish campaign goals, key messages and creative briefs.
  • In collaboration with internal and external communications, align storytelling across web, mobile and traditional marketing properties.
  • Liaises with the Creative Production Team for the design and printing of all marketing collateral.
  • Requests and co-ordinates with internal and external services for distribution of marketing material.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the organization and business units.
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of team processes.
  • Adheres to the team processes to facilitate consistent and optimal service delivery levels.
  • Consults with internal and external stakeholders to clarify expectations, seek direction, negotiate changes and resolve issues.
  • Communicates in a timely and effective manner to keep customers informed and up-to-date.
  • Build external market knowledge through networking to anticipate competitive market activity and identify emerging trends related to portfolio. 
  • Establish market share benchmarks and performance indicators.
  • Analyze existing customer data and recommend appropriate research to improve customer profile intelligence on designated portfolio.
  • Work with IT and other relevant departments to track, gather, assess and interpret analytics, measurements & metrics for marketing programs
  • Adheres to WSPS policies, procedures, process fact sheets, guidelines and business rules established in the WSPS Quality Management system which ensures the achievement of our quality goals
  • Contributes to promoting a healthy and safe culture, and links efforts to the WSPS quality management system approach (Plan, Do, Check, Act, Continuous Improvement Cycle)
  • Acts as a role model internally and externally by demonstrating knowledge of health and safety and wellness practises.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Post-secondary degree with 5-7 years of experience in Marketing, Advertising and/or Communications
  • Proven skills (tell us what you’ve done) developing marketing campaigns including a significant social media component
  • Innovative with a strong business acumen
  • Effective, demonstrated communication and team building skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Working knowledge of CRM database considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently/member of the team while managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment under tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Bilingualism an asset
  • A good sense of humour is a must
