Creative Director

Absorb Software is currently seeking a Creative Director to lead and support a team of design, copy and content resources to create idea-driven, world-class creative. In this role you will drive the creative strategy and manage the development of new and improved brand assets like social content, web pages, collateral, blog posts, case studies and success stories, emails and more that drive traffic and demand, and to manage projects for time, deliverables, and budgets.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role will provide leadership, foster talent, and develop an internal team. You will follow and apply changing market trends to the team’s daily activities while simultaneously, aligning on brand values and guidelines to develop concepts that resonate with the market.

The role demands great conceptual thinking, exceptional leadership and execution, bold ideas, and vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve on the Marketing Leadership Team as a critical contributor to the overall Marketing strategy and plan 
  • Translate Corporate and Marketing objectives into engaging and high performing design deliverables
  • Drive and inspire creative concepts and guide output from all designers and copywriters to meet Marketing communication requirements for the best performance of the business
  • Report progress on projects at major stages of their conception, creation, and execution to all stakeholders
  • Ensure continuous improvement to our Creative process, optimizing productivity, team utilization and quality of output
  • Identify, scope and manage areas of creative work that are necessary to deliver best in class deliverables (e.g. photoshoots; videography)
  • Ensure brand identify is consistent and aligned to corporate brand values and brand voice across all design and copywriting deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders on Marketing strategies, including Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Marketing, Channel Marketing, Product Marketing, and others
  • Own and manage relationships with creative agencies, consultants, partners and freelancers
  • Stay informed of trends and best practices in the industry and incorporate them into the creative strategy
  • Mentor the creative team and foster a positive and proactive work environment
  • Participate in and provide regular opportunities for professional development and growth

Key Requirements:
Minimum Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in a Creative Role with the last 2-4 years in a Director position with demonstrated creative team leadership
  • Proven experience in managing, mentoring, and growing a team
  • Vision to think outside the box and proven success translating that to strong creative concepts
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven leadership regarding the creative process, marketing design, and brand execution
  • Master in creative engagement processes (ex: working with creative tasks, delivering projects on time and on budget, and expanding and retaining standards for brand and communications)
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, agencies, and vendors
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a high-growth environment, while managing multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Experience managing a distributed team across multiple geographies
  • Experience selecting and managing agency partners
