REPORTING

The Marketing and Community Relations Manager will report to the General Manager, Central City for Central City.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Marketing and Community Relations Manager is responsible for development, planning and execution of strategic marketing, communication and community engagement programs for the BC Properties (primarily Central City) and for specific assigned corporate initiatives.

The primary goal of this position is to increase traffic, retailer sales, and market share while enhancing brand awareness and reputation.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Property Marketing (Primarily Central City)
 Prepare and execute annual marketing and business development plans to address short, medium and longterm strategies
 Conduct ongoing research and analysis to support strategic planning
 Develop and manage budgets through accounts payable procedures and provide quarterly budget updates
 Develop positioning, brand messaging and visual identity
 Provide creative direction for all visual adverting mediums including external and internal advertising, signage and social media
 Plan and execute strategic advertising campaigns and events 
 Develop communication channels and manage regular communication with tower and retail tenants including the coordination of tenant appreciation events
 Oversee drafting of media releases
 Responsible for the preparation of industry award submissions
 Leverage opportunities to enhance the reputation of NIRA and the Properties (primarily Central City) by supporting strategic local events charities and business associations
 Project the property’s brand in line with NIRA strategy for community development and foster positive relationships with tenants, customers, community and government stakeholders
 In cooperation with the Property Manager manage the Guest Service Centre through the Guest Services Manager

Corporate Marketing
 Coordinate leasing marketing initiatives including trade shows and broker events
 Prepare various presentations as requested
 Plan and execute special projects as required NIRA reserves the right to modify the job description as required from time to time.

Leadership and Communications
 Provide leadership and motivation to all stakeholders necessary to achieve the desired results including subordinates, customer service staff, retailers and external stakeholders
 Ensure consistent follow through on commitments to stakeholders
 Encourage coordination and Communication with all disciplines required to achieve successful completion of assignments including; operations, housekeeping and engineering

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

 Post-Secondary degree, diploma in a marketing field or ICSC CMD Designation (knowledge of sustainability practices would be an asset)
 Four to six years advertising, marketing and community/public relations experience
 Self-motivated, proactive team leader who is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while working on tight deadlines
 Strategic planner and organizer 
 Experience working in shopping centre industry or retail real estate is an asset
 Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

 Able to develop and sustain working relationship with senior management, clients, contractors, tenants and community stakeholders
 Coach and motivate staff in the achievement of performance goals

 Self-motivated professional with ability to work independently or in a team environment
 Skilled in time management and able to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines
 Able to handle multiple demands and competing priorities and adapt to new ideas and increasing demands of the job
 Ability to resolve problems using facts and sound reasoning

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS PACKAGE

This position comes with a base salary range of $90,000-$110,000 plus a competitive performance bonus, RRSP contribution and participation in our profit-sharing program. Base salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
