Marketing Specialist

Role: Marketing Specialist 

Reports to: Director of Marketing 

Job Type: Full-time 

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Specialist will be responsible for creative development of branded communication and digital marketing. The successful candidate will possess strong design skills, maintain brand integrity and ensure timely delivery and support of all print and digital communications. The individual is a self-starter who possesses strong organization and teamwork capabilities and meets strict deadlines. They excel in creative thinking/problem solving, execution and are committed to looking for new and/or innovative ways to communicate through various digital channels with a passion for driving results. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Design and Communications  

  • Serve as the point person for the day-to-day delivery of creative and marketing projects 

  • Interpret creative and marketing briefs into conceptual ideas and can produce innovative, results-oriented solutions 

  • Design and execute various digital and print materials, including web & social media assets, digital ads, brochures, product sheets, case studies, and PowerPoint presentations 

  • Maintain and oversee brand guidelines and ensure brand standards are respected and applied to all graphic elements 

  • Maintain marketing repository of all assets 

  • Develop all creative assets for tradeshows, partner and WatServ events 

  • Collaborate with key internal teams (sales, marketing, cloud solutions) to spread key brand messages. 

Digital Marketing  

  • Build components for digital campaigns including web, email, social and landing pages that are focused on client acquisition and retention 

  • Manage and continuously improve the corporate website including SEO, UX, content and general updates 

  • Assist and contribute to social media marketing 

  • Continuously monitor the performance and analytics of various assets via Google Analytics, email marketing and social media marketing reporting dashboards 

  • Collaborate with the team to create and execute effective marketing campaigns, including email marketing automation adhering to anti-spam legislations 

  • Support marketing project development through idea generation, recommendations, and plans to contribute to the optimization of marketing strategies 

Project and Vendor Management  

  • Assist with the implementation, coordination and logistics for local and international trade shows/events 

  • Liaise with external vendors (printers, partner account executives etc.) 

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES 

  • A strategic mindset focused on execution, delivering high-value results 

  • Strong experience with the designing and executing marketing material for print and digital 

  • Entrepreneurial spirit, insatiable curiosity and desire for continuous learning 

  • Superior organization and communication skills (both verbal and written) 

  • Highly motivated self-starter with a can-do attitude; comfortable working with a small team 

  • Flexibility and responsiveness to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail 

  

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS 

  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Canva, Adobe Spark) 

  • Understands the fundamentals of SEO and online advertising 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) 

  • Experience with: 

  • Analytics Platforms: (Google Analytics, HubSpot Analytics & Reporting, etc.) 

  • Marketing Platforms (WordPress, HubSpot, Eventbrite, Survey Monkey, etc.) 

  • Video Content Creation: (Videolicious, BombBomb, etc.) 

  • Comfortable with social media platforms with an understanding of the principles and practices of social media marketing, including paid social to drive traffic to the website and to generate leads.  

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Post-Secondary education; University/ College Diploma in Marketing, Communications 

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in creative design, marketing and communications 

  • Understanding of advanced design principles, copywriting, marketing fundamentals, campaign development, lead gen and marketing promotion
