VP Marketing and Account Management

Based in Toronto, the Vice President is a key part of the management team and will be a key contributor to the continued growth of a successful, fast paced, and progressive organization.  The Vice President will report to and work closely with the President/CEO of the organization.

The Vice President will lead, manage, and develop staff directly and indirectly in various Provinces as part of these responsibilities. The Vice President will have at least 3 direct reports and will be responsible for Customer Management, Customer Service, Marketing, Communications, Revenue Management including Fee setting and meeting battery recycling targets.

The Vice President has the following responsibilities.

Key Members/Steward and Account Management

Manage, develop, and maintain positive relationships with customers

Lead and manage a field based-team responsible for managing customer relationships a

Meeting battery recycling collection targets by Province

Maximizing battery recycling based on targeted marketing activities, analytics, research and harmonized collection methodologies and practices

Integrate marketing and communication strategies with key account management activities and plans, ensuring consistent messaging, activities, and priorities

Support/reinforce the value proposition with customers through in person meetings, customer satisfaction surveys, communications, and association management

Secure and implement improvements based on marketplace insights

Marketing and Communication

Manage, measure and enhance the “Call2Recycle” brand, using advertising, social media, public relations, special events and other promotional strategies to increase battery recycling and enhance brand equity

Oversee consumer educational and outreach initiatives that effectively communicate the importance of battery recycling

Serve as a significant external spokesperson on environmental, recycling and “green” issues, presenting to conferences, events, and forums on relevant issues

Overall responsibility for brand management including aligning the Call2Recycle brand with “green” and environmental partners, focusing on relationships that can mutually benefit the organization and improve brand awareness and grow collections

Customer Service:

Lead and manage a customer service team which supports and delivers exceptional customer service

Utilize customer service effectively as a key component to increasing the recycling of batteries

Use analytics and industry best practices to improve efficiencies and focus of the customer service team


Responsible for revenue management of the organization including reporting, collection of receivables and fee setting and related activities

Setting and management of budgets for respective functional areas including revenues, marketing and other related

Participate in strategic planning

Lead and secure approved growth strategies

Required Knowledge and Skills:

BA/BS Degree or equivalent

Ten Years’ experience in general management, account management, sales, marketing or client services

Ability to strategize, identify opportunities and develop solutions and plans and ultimately deliver results

Results driven, curious, creative, energetic self-starter who can work independently and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

Strong project management discipline

Proven people management and leadership experience

Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration and attitude

Bilingual French is an asset

Travel outside of the office is required for account meetings, tradeshows, conferences, etc. (Up to 30%)
