OPPORTUNITY:

London Health Sciences Foundation is looking for an experienced Senior Marketing Officer (SMO). Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Senior Marketing Officer supports a wide spectrum of marketing activity, driven by the strategic marketing and annual business plans, to help the Foundation achieve its strategic priorities.

This individual is responsible for bringing projects from idea through to execution of integrated marketing campaigns, measuring data and delivering creative brilliance.

The Senior Marketing Officer is accountable for the development and delivery of compelling content and creative marketing elements that bring the LHSF brand to life. This individual contributes to and ensures that a common Foundation voice/tone is maintained across multiple communication and event platforms, in direct alignment with LHSF brand standards. Acting as a brand ambassador, the SMO understands the importance of brand identity. This key member of the Marketing and Communications team will be the driving force in day-to-day marketing activities contributing to our digital footprint, social media, and launching on-line campaigns.

This individual plays an integral role in advancing the Foundation’s goal of marketing innovation in order to ensure we are top of mind with our donors.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-secondary diploma or Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or English

Minimum 5 years marketing experience in a senior marketing role ideally within the not-for-profit sector, ad agency or other position

Strong project management, flawless execution and varied writing skills are required

An energetic results-oriented attitude and a keen attention to detail to ensure that all marketing campaigns accurately reflect the Foundation’s brand

Demonstrated creativity

Exceptional writing and communication skills, presentation skills, editing and proofreading skills, ability to explain and communicate complex topics into simple language

Proven ability to construct clear and compelling copy for marketing materials, ads, news releases, blog content, social media, and executive communications

Proven ability to work in high performing, multi-stakeholder and diverse environment

Proven ability to work independently and also as part of an integrated team

Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to develop strong relationships across entire organization, as well as media and key stakeholders/contacts

Passionate about working for a team that gives back to its community

Must thrive working assertively in a deadline-driven environment

Demonstrated ability to manage brand standards for all marketing initiatives

Demonstrated ability  to think strategically and analytically

Computer skills are necessary, especially with Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe Photoshop and other desktop publishing platform as well as productivity tools, BaseCamp and project management software

Proven experience in results-driven digital marketing

Demonstrated good judgment, professionalism and integrity

Functions / Duties:

Write, edit and assist in the development of case for support marketing materials and resulting mass marketing and one-to-one cultivation and stewardship collateral to support the Foundation’s fundraising goals and build strong relationships with our audiences.

Leverage market research to create, plan and implement marketing campaigns aimed at target audience, oversee their progress to ensure the strategies are successfully rolled out.

Work collaboratively with colleagues from various program areas to research, develop content and execute marketing and communications tactics ensuring the successful integration of program and corporate marketing and communication objectives, budgets and efficiencies.

Develop marketing content and messages for ongoing initiatives including, but not limited to case development, proposals, stewardship reports, donor updates, program newsletters, e-communications, website, brochures, etc.

Oversee the development of and/or create graphic concepts, designs, photography and video for distribution through multiple marketing channels, including but not limited to website, graphic e-communications, web surveys, multi-media presentations, brochures, etc.

Produce and/or coordinate any necessary photography or video for corporate and assigned fundraising priorities areas and liaise with Director, Marketing & Communications to ensure regular updating of content

Assist with development and implementation of LHSF’s social media strategies and web-based communications tools to address marketing plans, challenges and opportunities for assigned fundraising priorities.

Develop content for e-communications.

Prioritize, schedule and ensure timely completion of multiple projects for assigned fundraising priorities.

Working closely with programs and staff at all levels, assist in the coordination of a critical path and metrics, develop content, produce and distribute materials within set deadlines and budget, working with minimal supervision, and measure projects compared to program objectives.

In conjunction with own team, develop and/or contribute to style, brand and process guidelines; create templates and write standardized pieces; educate LHSF colleagues on their availability and use.

Act as an information resource to colleagues, providing research sources, verifying accuracy of information and supplementing gaps with fact-finding research.

Maintain and continually enhance library of marketing material. Educate LHSF staff on their stored location and use.

Assist with coordinating the conversion of traditional communications materials into web-based material to ensure availability of relevant information for donors and other audiences.

Other duties as assigned.

Act as an Ambassador throughout the Community, positively representing the Hospital and the Foundation

Work as a team player promoting a positive and professional work environment and conduct role with integrity and respect

Other duties as assigned from time to time in order to meet the overall goals and objectives of the London Health Sciences Foundation

Abide by the policies and procedures of the LHSF and LHSC

Abide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and work in a manner that is safe, reporting incidents immediately to direct supervisor

Operates within culture and core values of the organization
