Marketing Officer, Marketing Communications Office

The Marketing Communications Office (MCO) at the University of Manitoba is a unit within the External Relations Division with a mandate to enhance and protect the image and reputation of the University of Manitoba.  MCO oversees all institutional marketing and communications activities and provides marketing communications direction and integrated service to strategically important areas within the university.  These areas include marketing communications efforts related to students, research, administration, Indigenous perspectives and knowledge, alumni, donor relations and faculties.

MCO seeks an experienced Marketing Communications professional with exceptional oral and written communications skills and a high level of creativity and problem-solving. Reporting to the Brand Manager, the incumbent will provide strong competency in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of all marketing communications efforts associated with the brand and reputation of the University of Manitoba. The individual must have a proven track record of successful strategic marketing communications planning, execution and implementation as well as exceptional relationship building skills.

A solid understanding of print and digital marketing communications platforms and the ability to leverage them in an integrated way to meet identified goals and objectives is required.  Exceptionally strong project management skills including time management and the ability to prioritize conflicting demands are required.  The incumbent should possess a high degree of independence, diplomacy and the ability to work collectively in a fast paced and dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders. Experience working in a creative agency setting is an asset.
