Job Description

Reporting into the Senior Manager, Brand, Sponsorship & Marketing Communications, and this position is responsible for managing the effective development, implementation and communication of the Purolator brand to support overall business objectives. In addition, this person is responsible for leading all retail marketing and communications  

 

Brand Management

  • Be the evangelist for the Purolator brand

  • Ensure the Purolator brand is positioned to drive business results across all key customer segments including Purolator’s retail network and all marketing and communications initiatives.

  • Working closely with the brand agency, educate and manage both internal and external stakeholders to ensure they are familiar with our brand and are using it correctly - to ensure consistency in visual identity, message, and voice.

  • Responsible for maintaining Purolator Brand Guidelines and providing ongoing support and approval of all internal and external customer facing Marketing content from a Brand perspective.

  • Liaise with Brand agency in supporting the development of Brand planning and creative development to support Brand health and drive to the longer term goal of being in the top 10 trusted brands in Canada by 2020

  • Lead all brand related projects  including supporting stakeholder needs for advertising and other initiatives as they involve the brand

  • Review and approve public facing uses for the brand – i.e. signage

  • Working with the Marketing Operations team ensuring all brand initiatives/campaigns have the correct tracking and measurement strategies in place, delivering final analysis and reports

Retail Marketing

  • Act as the lead liaison for the retail team to work together on major innovation initiatives including launching a new retail design, mobile truck & pop up retail

  • Liaise with Purolator Retail team in leading all marketing related requests and proactively initiate plans and tactics in support of Retail Marketing initiatives for the organization.

  • Support the Retail team with in-store promotions, seasonal campaigns, and communication efforts.

  • Support management retail marketing budgets, including forecasting and tracking of all programs

  • Support the management of financial tracking and forecasting Retail Marketing budget.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships and work closely with vendors and internal cross-functional teams and stakeholders

  • Build positive relationships and collaborates with internal teams and individual stakeholders in multiple business areas

  • Co-manage marketing budgets - regular tracking and invoice processing

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University education or equivalent, specializing in Marketing or Communications

  • 8 -10 years of experience  - working in marketing and communications  

  • Positive and upbeat with a can-do attitude.

  • Works well as part of a team but is also self-directing  

  • Demonstrated project management experience; ability to prioritize effectively with a strong sense of urgency

  • Experience in digital and social media marketing, including content creation & reporting

  • Agency and campaign management experience required.  Understands the details for buying and tracking media.  

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.  Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills are an advantage but not essential

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to write clear concise plans, briefs and presentations  

  • Experience managing external vendors, timelines & budgets

  • Experience managing and leading staff and contract workers

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively
