We are currently recruiting for a Digital Marketing Manager to work with Communications & Public Affairs Division for this exciting opportunity.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive, integrated pan-university digital marketing strategy with a focus on website optimization across the University. The incumbent will oversee the development of digital marketing strategies and content that support the overall integrated institutional communication plan, and identify opportunities for reputation exposure and brand presence and execute content and engagement strategies that take advantage of these opportunities. S/he will be responsible for providing strategic, creative and technical leadership and guidance for digital initiatives from initial development to execution and measurement for effectively managing digital marketing, communications and public relations initiatives to internal and external audiences for the primary purpose of generating broad awareness and elevating reputation. In collaboration with the Director, s/he will lead and direct M&CS’s digital marketing team in the content development for digital platforms, online, video, photo production and social media engagement; identify and execute strategic partnerships to acquire compelling content, features, and online tools that support the integrated strategy; stay abreast of emerging platforms, services and vendors of interest to the university and make recommendations to the Director accordingly. Marketing & Creative services drives the University’s brand strategy and develops/executes marketing initiatives for academic and non-academic units across York. It provides strategic direction and support to pan-University marketing efforts and enhances York’s reputation by ensuring a consistent and professional approach in the ways we market, recruit, publicize and report in earned, owned and paid media channels.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:

A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or relevant discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. In addition, the successful incumbent will possess a minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in a marketing and communications role in an environment involving multiple stakeholders, with a preference for individuals with 3 years’ Web strategy development and cross- organization influencing and execution responsibility. Experience includes a minimum of three years’ experience in a supervisory position; team management in a unionized environment (preferred), overseeing communications, creative and/or digital marketing staff including vendors. Extensive experience in successfully managing online and digital communications strategy, from ideation to delivery. Proven success in providing superior service and support in a busy, demanding environment; Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in: online communications tools, project management; information management; team building, managing change and adapting to new technologies. Demonstrated experience working with external vendors (i.e. web developers); developing and monitoring budgets; web, mobile, online interactive and social media tools, techniques and best practices including but not limited to Google AdWords, Google Display Network, Google Analytics, Wordpress, social media content creation and advertising, SEO, user analytics, blogs and email campaigns. Experience using a CRM considered an asset, MS Dynamics CRM (preferred). Understanding of AODA and CASL requirements.
