Marketing Manager

Houser Henry & Syron LLP is a dynamic business law firm. The firm focuses its practice of corporate and real estate law on mid-market sized companies based in Canada.  


We are looking to hire a self-starter Marketing Manager who is a strategic thinker and takes initiative. This position is responsible for managing the day to day marketing activities and long term marketing strategy for the firm. The ideal candidate has broad work experience across all marketing disciplines including business development, brand management, social media and event planning.


Key Accountabilities:


-Develop and execute annual firm-wide and individual lawyer marketing plans that support firm performance


-Regularly analyze and report on revenue to identify trends, new business opportunities and lead generation


-Development and execution of the firm’s digital and social media strategy, including maintenance of the firm’s website, posting articles and maintaining a general online presence


-Proactive sourcing and evaluation of appropriate speaking and publishing opportunities for the lawyers to convey thought leadership and strengthen the firm’s brand


-Routinely soliciting client feedback and disseminate to firm members

-Manage and maintain the firm’s CRM platform


-Comprehensive planning and execution of client events/seminars that reflect the firm’s brand and service delivery differentiation


-Sourcing and procurement of promotional items and gifts


-Maintain accurate and current marketing lists relating to client gifts, hockey tickets, referrals, accountants and tiered clients


-Assist with the development of proposals, presentations and articles


-Manage relationships and deliverables of copywriter and vendors


-Management of monthly e-newsletters





  • 7+ years of professional and relevant Marketing work experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing and/or Business
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma or certificate would be a strong asset
  • Proven track record in business development
  • Experience, understanding and continuous curiosity in the space of digital marketing platforms, innovation and client engagement
  • Proven experience creating and executing on marketing plans
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with social media tools such as Twitter and Linkedin
  • Demonstrated success in meeting team goals
  • Acts with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Experience in event planning
  • Flexible and creative problem solver focused on results
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong research skills
  • SEO and Google Analytics experience would be an asset
  • Sales experience would be an asset
