Job description

As a member of Imperial’s Retail marketing team, you will be responsible for developing and executing leading edge marketing programs in support of our channel partners in achieving their sales and marketing program objectives. You will play a critical role in delivering on Imperial’s promise of providing “the best fueling experience” to Canadian consumers.


Reporting directly to the national loyalty programs manager, your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Playing a leadership role in defining the strategy for Imperial’s Retail loyalty programs.
  • Responsible for leading strategic discussions with loyalty partners, vendors, and channel partners.
  • Working cross functionally with Imperial stakeholders (e.g. Marketing Communications, Fleet, Card Programs, Sales and Operations teams).
  • Developing programs, promotions and campaigns based on information collected such as marketing trends, market research, competition, new products, and pricing.
  • Planning, executing, and stewarding specific marketing activities, programs and budgets as appropriate.
  • Leading financial modelling, business case development, market / competitive research, and develop related presentations to secure approval for funding, alignment with channel partners, and keep key stakeholders engaged (including senior executives).
  • Ensuring loyalty programs are well positioned, innovative, and remain leading edge in competitive retail fuels loyalty environment.
  • Contributing to customer communication strategy and development of appropriate member engagement plans and tactics.
  • Initiating recommendations for improvement of internal processes and identify opportunities for efficiency related to marketing programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, finance, marketing or business related field is required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years’ of relevant work experience in B2C marketing, corporate development,  strategy, management consulting or equivalent.
  • Proven financial analysis capability;  Excel modelling competence an asset; ability to build professional business case/presentations suitable for senior executive reviews providing recommendations and demonstrating financial implications.
  • Loyalty program experience is an asset.
  • Excellent collaboration,  negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to influence without direct authority, business project coordination and execution.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem solving capabilities in complex, changing, and fast paced environment.

Eligibility to work in Canada

Failure to provide proof of eligibility at least six (6) weeks prior to the start date may result in the offer of employment being rescinded.
