Job overview

Program Directors have their hands around complex programs with numerous workstreams and ensure it’s all delivered flawlessly. They work on numerous clients within and beyond the portfolio of a Client Partner (a.k.a. Group Account Director), and with the support of the Project Management team and various discipline leads.

Program Directors lead internal teams with a professional approach that reflects the culture, values and capabilities of Evans Hunt, and are responsible for maintaining the happiness of both the client and the internal team throughout their engagements.

Show us what you've got! If Program Director feels like a reach, but you’ve got skills managing programs, projects, or clients at an agency, apply anyway. You may be a born Project Manager.

Who we’re looking for

As part of the Client Engagement team, the ideal candidate for the Program Director role will check off the boxes below.

  • You understand the agency environment. You understand core agency services and creative processes (e.g. ad campaigns, web builds, content programs, analytics, digital marketing, communications, etc). You believe in a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to projects and that diverse perspectives lead to stronger work. You’re comfortable leading interdisciplinary teams working across the country.
  • You have the experience to back up your skills. This isn’t your first rodeo. You have exceptional skills in delivering concurrent marketing projects of every kind, with big budgets, big teams, big challenges, and big brains. You’re equally comfortable in waterfall and agile. Your teams trust you to remove barriers in front of them so they can get the work done, and you can manage the expectations of clients of all stripes. You can manage budgets, forecasts, and overall fiscal health across a portfolio.
  • You’re digitally minded. You have an interest and ever-growing knowledge of digital/web technologies, technology vendors and third-party technologies. This could also include marketing automation, personalization, campaign design systems, and brand strategy.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills. You know how to relay information to your teams from your client and back again. You’re an excellent verbal and written communicator with outstanding presentation skills. Your clients and team love you.

A day in the life

Working at an agency, you'll have the opportunity to work with various clients across a diverse range of industries simultaneously. As a Program Director, there are a few activities that will likely take up most of your time. These include:

  • Bridging the relationship between the Client Partner (or client) and the internal teams who deliver the work.
  • Setting up teams, projects, programs, and clients for success through consultation, execution, and delivery.
  • Providing critical guidance to delivery teams, as well as to Client Partners who have overall accountability for client relationships.
  • Ensuring that project standards at Evans Hunt are adhered to for scope definition, estimate creation, schedule and budget management, and project communication.
  • Aligning and scheduling work and teams including defining activities, sequence, dependencies, work effort, and associated resource requirements
  • Proactively identify risk, and being a resource for escalation
  • Monitor, forecast, track and own program financial performance
  • Be the calm presence during the chaos; coaching teams toward success, helping to identify areas to work on, and defining and improving on overall team best practices.
