Marketing Technology Project Manager (12-Month Contract)

Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), one of Canada’s largest and most successful law firms, is currently looking for a Marketing Technology Project Manager (PM) to join the Client Relations & Marketing department in the Toronto office. The PM will report to the Director, Business Intelligence & Marketing Technology. This position is a 12-month contract, with a very high possibility of renewal.

The PM role has two main responsibilities within the Client Relations & Marketing department: practitioner and innovative leader. The PM is responsible for directly managing high-profile projects for the department, ensuring that the proper project management discipline and techniques are used to manage and successfully complete projects within scope, on time and on budget. The largest of these projects is a complete CRM/ERM replacement. Additional technology projects might include digital asset management, experience management, awards/ranking management, virtual/hybrid event provider, social media advocacy app and trip reporting management.

The PM is expected to lay the foundation for the increased use of project management techniques in the department. By developing procedures, templates, checklists and providing appropriate guidance, training and mentoring, the PM will inject successful project management techniques throughout the department.

The PM will work closely with the Director and Chief Client Relations & Marketing Officer on the department’s technology strategy to ensure alignment with the Firm’s business requirements. This will include assisting in building business cases and related capital/resource planning. The PM is also responsible for leading the department’s technology audit.

The PM will form strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders across departments and teams, including working very closely with the IT department on project planning and scoping, and general technology strategy.
