Director of Marketing & Corporate Communications

Named as one of B.C.’s Top Employers and one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for multiple consecutive years, BC Hydro’s mission is to safely provide its customers with clean, reliable electricity at competitive rates through its continuing evolution in response to changes in climate, consumer demand, technology and B.C.’s commitment to Indigenous Nations. It is BC Hydro’s vision to be the most trusted, innovative utility company in North America by being smart about power in all it does. BC Hydro is a Crown corporation, owned by the government and people of British Columbia. It is one of the largest energy suppliers in Canada, generating and delivering electricity to 95 % of the population of B.C. and serving over five million people.

BC Hydro’s electrification plan outlines how they will continue to support conservation efforts, while also offering new programs and incentives to help British Columbians make the switch from fossil fuels to clean hydroelectricity, powering their homes, businesses, and vehicles. Additionally, the organization will help attract new energy-intensive industries to B.C. and offer programs to reduce the time and costs for new customers to get connected to the grid. The goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the province by 900,000 tonnes per year by April 2026 – that’s around the same as taking 200,000 gas-powered cars off the road for one year.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Customer and Corporate Affairs, the Director, Marketing and Corporate Communications leads BC Hydro’s high impact, multi-discipline communications and marketing team and portfolio which includes province-wide marketing, brand development and management, media relations, issues management, community relations, community investment, employee communications, digital communications, and research.
