Parkinson Canada is seeking the Director of Philanthropy to join their Marketing & Philanthropy team. Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing and Philanthropy, The Director of Philanthropy will direct all aspects of the organization’s revenue sources and work in partnership with the Senior Manager, Donor Relations & Stewardship. The incumbent will understand the importance of and have a proven track record building revenue capacity from mid-level donors to annual and multi-year major gifts. The Director will help drive the overall Philanthropy strategy while achieving annual and campaign goals. Ensuring that the President & CEO, Board of Directors, and other key volunteer and staff leaders are appropriately leveraged to increase Parkinson Canada’s revenue, the Director of Philanthropy will lead by example in cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting major individual and corporate donors.

The Director of Philanthropy is equally responsible for overall Philanthropy strategy as well as strategic marketing and fundraising initiatives related to furthering Parkinson Canada’s mission, national profile, and strategic goals.

As the ideal candidate, you are an exceptional relationship builder who adeptly wears two hats, combining the ability to tell inspiring stories with a deep understanding of donor needs, with the goal of sparking philanthropic giving and partnerships to achieve revenue goals. You have a successful track record in fundraising experience (major gifts with individuals, corporations and foundations, and grants), proven staff leadership and management experience, and technical experience in the development and delivery of effective marketing and fundraising campaigns. The successful candidate will be passionate, energetic, and committed to leading others through change and building programs that have a direct and immediate impact on people living with Parkinson’s in communities across Canada. Your ability to communicate in both official languages will be an asset.
