Associate Vice President, Strategic Communications and Marketing

Reporting to the Vice-President of External Relations, the Associate Vice-President (AVP) Strategic Communications & Marketing develops and implements strategic and measurable communications and marketing plans that creatively engage and inspire the institution’s diverse stakeholders. Critically, the AVP leads, motivates, and supervises a team of professionals to articulate and promote Red Deer Polytechnic’s brand to increase its regional, provincial, national, and global reputation.

 

This role has a key responsibility to develop and implement a comprehensive and proactive Polytechnic strategic communications and marketing engagement strategy that supports and enhances student enrolment, academic and employer reputation, applied research initiatives, public opinion, and philanthropic support.

 

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of marketing and communications experience with the most recent 5 years in a management role leading a team in a large, complex organization. A Master’s degree will be an asset. Significant experience/knowledge of marketing in a post-secondary sector would be preferred. The AVP is a strategic thinker who scans and assesses internal and external environments to take advantage of new opportunities while mitigating risk to the organization Ideally, has a CAAP or APR professional accreditation.
