The Western Canadian Children’s Heart Network (WCCHN) is a unique, interprovincial program operated out of AHS in service to the five pediatric cardiac centers of Western Canada. For 20+ years, the WCCHN has worked to link expertise across sites, streamline surgical referrals, & benchmark clinical outcomes so that all children in Western Canada have access to the highest standard of care available. The WCCHN is hiring a Administrative Support V - Business & Communications Advisor to provide high level, comprehensive support to the Program Manager, the Integrated Advisory Board, & the Administrative/Operations Team. This role is an advanced position that functions as the primary point of contact for WCCHN clinicians, senior medical leaders, executive administrators, & the general public, & will work regularly with network-wide stakeholders. This one-of-a-kind opportunity is your chance to join a small but mighty virtual team working remotely to support activity that drives change forward for heart kids. As a Business & Communications Advisor, you will perform day-to-day operational tasks, but also coordinate extensively with the offices of key executive administrators across four provinces in both the health & government sectors. You will be required to address escalated issues of heightened sensitivity using discretion where no process or guideline is established by organizing, planning, prioritizing, monitoring, tracking & reporting. This position also plays a critical role in network-wide & public facing marketing & communications activities. You will oversee WCCHN digital property & social media presence for the purpose of building & reinforcing brand identity. This offers a unique opportunity to contribute skillsets of significant specialization including graphic/visual design, brand management, marketing/advertising, and/or data analytics/visualization.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in a relevant field of study, supplemented by additional clinical, administrative, computer, managerial, health sciences, marketing/advertising, communications, visual design, project management, brand management, leadership and/or data visualization courses. Equivalent work experience will be considered. 5 years progressive experience in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Advanced skills in MS Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Highly refined communication skills with an ability to tailor information to the intended target audience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience/training in: Financial Administration. Tableau. Adobe Suite (including InDesign, Captivate, Premier Pro, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro DC, and/or Captivate). WordPress with Elementor and/or Better Docs. Working knowledge of Alberta Health Services teams, systems, processes, policies, and procedures. Knowledge and sensitivity around the culture, history, evolution, and structure of congenital pediatric cardiac care in Western Canada.
