The Digital Media Officer’s duties will include leading the creation, planning and production of digital content to support student recruitment and the promotion of Conestoga’s full-time programs through social media and other digital marketing channels.  The incumbent has the responsibility of representing Conestoga in a positive way online which can impact the overall first impression and reputation of the College.  The incumbent will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to create targeted digital messaging that will help increase the Think Conestoga digital brand and help domestic application numbers.  With oversight from the Digital Marketing Strategist, the incumbent will ensure best practice adherence and alignment with marketing recruitment goals, act as the digital media creative lead in developing content, and creating engagement in support of digital marketing initiatives and campaigns. Use of industry standard content creation tools and social media scheduling software will be required to engage prospects throughout the admissions cycle.

Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates content through shooting and editing of photography, video, gifs, animation, etc., that is rooted in strategy and insights, builds relevance and engagement and delivers recruitment results
  • Contributes to content creation strategy by bringing solutions to strategy meetings, brainstorming and pre-production planning
  • Turns raw assets (e.g. video footage) into social content, finding the narrative and tying it back to strategy
  • Helps others learn what works and (what fails) in social media
  • Coordinates and plans photo and video shoots and other opportunities to capture social content including live events with key stakeholders
  • Identifies and implements a solution to manage the storage and tagging of digital assets 
  • Collaborates with marketing, liaison officers, CRM digital marketing specialist and academic program areas to identify priority messages to be conveyed in digital content

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three-year Diploma or Degree in Digital Media, Social Media, Digital Photography & Videography, Interactive Media, Marketing, Broadcasting or relevant field 
  • Minimum of three years of experience producing engaging digital content
  • Highly creative with the ability to take current trends in digital marketing and apply them to the goal of student recruitment
  • Be able to use the latest Adobe software or other industry standard software to create compelling graphics, photos, videos (including animation) and other digital materials as assigned
  • Be able to mediate multiple photography/videography shoots
  • Organized to implement all digital materials into an asset management system including systematized tagging and ordering functionality
