Chief Marketing Officer

The Ottawa Hospital Foundation (TOHF) is a team of professional staff and community leaders who are passionately committed to inspiring, enabling, and celebrating community support for The Ottawa Hospital. Through world-class care and research, the Hospital provides each patient with exceptional service, compassion, and new hope for their health challenges. TOHF is currently leading the most ambitious fundraising campaign in the history of eastern Ontario. The $500M Campaign to Create Tomorrow will help build a new campus of The Ottawa Hospital, fund world-leading healthcare research, and bring to Ottawa the most-advanced patient-centred hospital in the country.

It is within this exciting context that the Foundation is seeking a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the CMO provides strategic leadership to TOHF’s Marketing and Communications program, including the development, implementation and management of donor positioning, campaign messaging and community engagement. The CMO works proactively and collaboratively with the Chief Communications Officer of The Ottawa Hospital to ensure brand alignment, team alignment and complementary strategies. The CMO promotes the Foundation’s values of donor-centred thinking, inspiring and enabling support, and creating life-long relationships with donors. The CMO develops, executes, monitors, and evaluates tailored strategies for the various revenue streams of the Foundation.

As CMO, you are highly respected as an individual capable of clear vision and superb execution. You have a combination of successful experience in entrepreneurial settings where new ideas and approaches are encouraged and exposure to multi-stakeholder environments and the public interest are at stake. You bring proven skill in developing, executing, monitoring and evaluating multi-year marketing and communication strategic plans, and campaign communications plans. The Foundation will benefit from your demonstrated track record of development and delivery of brand, social media, and digital campaigns/initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses a university undergraduate degree or equivalent in a related field as well as a minimum of 10 years of relevant and progressive experience in communications, marketing and/or public relations. Previous experience leading a cross disciplinary team that has included strategic marketing, internal and external communications, and a creative staff is required.
