The Opportunity
PMAM is currently searching for a high-energy, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented individual to join the firm’s Marketing team as a Director, Digital Marketing & Customer Experience.Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this Director role is responsible for driving the rapid onboarding of our digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g. marketing automation), then owning, on a day-to-day basis, the new digital marketing capabilities that manifest (e.g. hyper-targeting) across the digital customer/consumer experiences (including Advisors and Institutional clients).   

This individual will lead the realization of an ambitious revitalization of the digital experience of Picton Mahoney’s website to create connected and relevant digital journeys that drive business, while exceeding the expectations of our customers.  Key deliverables include a new Content Management System, website redesign and defining experiences based on persona development matched with supporting business strategy. 

Combining product, agile, digital experience, and technical expertise, the successful incumbent will play a critical role in the firm’s digital transformation, working closely with partners across the firm to drive greater long-term profitability.

This leadership role provides an opportunity to grow a team and become the ‘go-to’ digital marketing leader of a well-established and rapidly expanding leader in Canadian financial services.

Responsibilities of the Role
Digital Channel Ownership: Websites

  • Own the enterprise content management system, the evolution of public site experiences through optimization and personalization based on insights driven from analytics and data
  • Continually translate customer needs into a fresh product vision, leading the strategy and development of new digital programs from inception to delivery on behalf of Marketing
  • Develop new product and feature ideas for our digital properties that lead to customer success and work to implement those new capabilities with Compliance, Sales, Technology and Digital Strategy
  • Craft content strategies that drive clicks and engagement
  • Develop a search engine optimization (SEO) framework with clear search ranking goals that include both technical and non-technical SEO strategies
  • Institute and own basic personalization and A/B testing capabilities and implement and maintain advanced tracking, across journeys, for continued product and content optimization
  • Advance marketing program delivery through digital channels (e.g. paid social through LinkedIn), analytics, and SEO, to drive site performance and establish KPIs and regular reporting dashboards
  • Build out a roadmap of experience personalization, optimization testing, and data collection strategies and machine learning pilots, critical to our long-term success

Digital Marketing Leadership

  • Lead the life-cycle of AdTech for the firm identifying and onboarding new digital marketing innovations and offboarding tools and vendors that no longer meet our needs
  • Execute against targeted campaigns with effective digital marketing tactics (e.g. Paid social through LinkedIn), developing KPIs and measuring ROI
  • Partner with the Director, Digital Product and our Head of Technology to continually optimize our MarTech stack ensuring platforms and tools ‘talk to’ each other to create compelling experiences and connected journeys
  • Facilitate and manage Marketing vendors ensuring SLAs are instituted and maintained, budgets optimized while establishing the framework and practice for vendor management in Marketing
  • Stay updated on product trends arising in the MarTech and AdTech space, particularly as it relates to the FinTech and WealthTech markets
  • Support the advancement of social media business building capabilities of our sales teams through thoughtful content marketing and related social strategies (including mastery of Hootsuite and Proofpoint platforms)  

Digital Channel Ownership: Marketing Automation

  • Enable the establishment of advanced marketing automation for enhanced audience segmentation and targeting and lead generation and lead scoring
  • Lead the strategy to deliver dynamically tailored content based on key target audience needs
  • Establish auto triggered campaigns (without marketer intervention) through real-time customer data activity

Program Delivery: Creating an Agile Delivery Framework for Marketing

  • Innate partnership abilities expressed (among other ways) in a fervent commitment to sharing digital best practices and trends with team members and stakeholders across the organization
  • Work on behalf of Marketing with internal stakeholders and industry experts to formulate a comprehensive Agile delivery model that focuses on value delivery to the business and customer centricity
  • Help embed Agile practices (e.g. Scrum) into Marketing teams to establish regular ceremonies - sprint planning, daily stand-up, sprint review, spring retrospective along with backlog refinement
  • Promote an agile mindset that encourages transparency, continuous improvement, customer centricity and empowering team members
  • Work to establish program level reporting to ensure timelines, budget and value delivery are well communicated to all relevant stakeholders
  • Facilitate and actively participate in major programs across the firm as a subject matter expert -on digital program delivery- across all program phases including formulation and definition of systems scope, objectives, and necessary system enhancements for complex, high-impact projects
  • Identify, analyze, evaluate, communicate, and overcome program issues and risks; propose risk mitigation options, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment and produce program reports for management and stakeholders
  • Coach teams to efficiently deliver innovative digital products using agile and scrum methodologies
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Picton Mahoney, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • 7+ years in Digital Experience, preferably managing digital marketing, public websites and marketing automation
  • 5+ years hands-on experience leading teams
  • 5+ years delivering in an Agile environment, including relevant certifications (e.g. CSPO, CSM)
  • 4+ years experience in high profile roles leading customer facing technology projects and system implementation for Enterprise companies
  • 4+ years experience standing up a MarTech and AdTech Stack: CMS, Design Tools, Marketing Automation, Journey Analytics, Data Visualization, Programmatic and Organic Traffic
  • Relevant University Degree (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce)
  • Possesses solid presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) designation or equivalent is considered an asset
  • Experience in using JIRA (or similar) to track requirements / stories is beneficial
