Marketing Manager, Product

The key responsibility of this role will be to develop strategies and manage marketing programs aligned to the overall Standards strategy. The Product Marketing Manager will set the strategic marketing direction and contribute to Standards Commercial and Education objectives that will drive profitable revenue growth for the organization and expand awareness and adoption of educational tools.

The ideal candidate will be both strategic and analytical, leveraging marketing best practices and data analytics to create impactful marketing campaigns.  This role will foster cross-functional collaboration both within and outside the organization and effectively leverage marketing channels (traditional, digital, social, email, online store) to implement successful Marketing strategies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Deep understanding of strategic priorities gained through sales and stakeholder engagement.

  • Lead the development of integrated, omni channel product marketing campaigns that support business objectives.    

  • Manage product and education launches across all channels including social media, online store, customer emails and PR.

  • Define target audiences and align content, communication and target messaging these audiences.

  • Develop and execute marketing budgets, projects, tactics and support materials required to meet the business objectives of the commercial & education areas.

  • Manage segment budget and recommend spending activity based on strategic objectives.

  • Establish budget forecasts aligning with plan activity and reconcile forecasted spend vs. actual each month.

  • Liaise with marketing counterparts to support sector initiatives and create customer-specific executions to drive category growth.

  • Leverage multiple sources of research (syndicated, custom, category and customer) to review marketing plan performance and identify opportunities.

  • Identify gaps and make recommendations on data and automation needs to provide analysis and insight-driven decision making.

  • Be a subject matter expert on industry and consumer insights by monitoring market activity through research, reports, articles and customer dialogue in a timely manner to help drive customer education and engagement.

  • Lead marketing engagement programs and trade activities (events, campaigns, promotional items and merchandising) across multiple formats to maximize sales, drive growth and profitability.

  • Develop KPIs & Analyze ROI on all customer market activities and outline key areas of opportunity with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Leverage automation and analytics tools to increase customer engagement and drive sales.

  • Evaluate and optimize lead generation and CRM, including marketing-to-sales process improvement.

  • Collaborate with organizational counterparts to drive fully integrated campaigns (PR, Digital Growth Marketing, Corporate Communications).

  • Provide excellent client service to our stakeholders internally and externally.

  • Champion the brand and use creative acumen.

  • Ensure campaigns are AODA compliant and support inclusion and diversity.

 

Education and Experience:

  • College/university degree in business administration, marketing, communications or equivalent experience in a sales/marketing and/or communications department.

  • A seasoned professional with experience in strategic marketing and tactic implementation across channels (traditional and digital, email, ecommerce).

  • Proven project management skills and experience.

  • 6-7+ years’ of Industry and/or B2B experience in category management, brand management, trade marketing, or sales considered an asset.

  • 5 years demonstrable success in similar roles looking at progressive advancements in role and responsibility including managing budgets and growing revenue.

  • Experience working with Google Analytics required.

  • Experience working with Salesforce and Pardot preferred.

  • Up-to-date marketing, advertising and communication industry knowledge.

  • Passion for marketing, brand building and ability to articulate a compelling narrative.

  • Understanding industry trends and approaches.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead/implement and influence change and influence without authority.

  • Bilingual (English, French) preferred but not required.
