Destination Greater Victoria (Greater Victoria Visitors and Convention Bureau) is the official not-for-profit destination marketing organization working in partnership with more than 950 business members and municipalities in Greater Victoria. Summary of Vice President, Marketing Communications Role:

The Vice President, Marketing Communications is holistically responsible for Destination Greater Victoria's destination marketing, communications programs and destination brand management. This is an executive position responsible for Destination Advertising, Travel & Lifestyle Media, Content Marketing, and Destination Greater Victoria's digital environment. The Vice President has executive ownership and accountability of all marketing communications functions and branding efforts with a strong emphasis on digital and content focused efforts to convert travelers for Greater Victoria.

The ideal candidate for this role would have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing Communications, Journalism or another related field.
  • Eight or more years of direct work experience in a managing marketing teams in a related industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital and content marketing.
  • Clear understanding and demonstrated execution of marketing initiatives that successfully move potential buyers down the path to conversion.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
