The Opportunity

The Manager, Communications and Strategy is a 2 year contract position that will support the Director in developing the content strategy, communications plan and new standards of narrative excellence for FEAS. The successful candidate will provide strategic and creative solutions that enable FEAS to reach its business goals and brand objectives; plan for diverse content that deepens audience engagement and drives measurable results; and project manage all marketing and communication projects.

 

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience, in strategic communications, content strategy/creation, design thinking, and/or marketing/promotion are required.
  • Demonstrated experience as a lead storyteller in developing creative initiatives and solutions to advance the quality and consistency of brand identity, delivering on KPIs and creating engaging content and stories across all channels and mediums.
  • Exemplary written communication skills, including advanced writing and editing skills. Excellent knowledge of CP style.
  • Experience in developing and implementing internal and external strategic communication plans/ campaigns and corporate communications initiatives to support activities and reputation of a brand.
  • Experience in collaborating across organizational boundaries and building partnerships across various functions. Minimum 3 years’ managerial experience with direct reports. Proven success in building strong working relationships.
  • Advanced skill in strategic thinking to write/develop comprehensive, execution-focused plans.
  • A highly-organized, detail oriented project manager with the ability to manage multiple initiatives/projects concurrently, and meeting changing requirements/priorities to accomplish objective.
  • Ability to work in a results-driven environment, effectively planning and managing multiple projects and deadlines at once in a manner that considers both the needs of the Faculty and team members.
  • Ability to synthesize results of analyses, develop and make recommendations and presents results to solve unique and complex problems. Ability to translate complex technical information into consumer-friendly language that drives action.
  • Competency in office software and working with information management systems.
