Mass Media Advisor (Petro-Canada)

We are looking for a dynamic and creative marketing communications specialist to build and execute multi-channel retail campaigns across our 1,500 Petro-Canada retail gas stations. In this temporary role, you will use your expertise to collaborate with our internal business partners, advertising agencies and vendors to develop clear and concise communications that are on-brand/strategy and will shape our customer experience. You will use your expertise to:

  • Execute retail communication/advertising plans for mass media channels including retail site signage, collateral, digital (social and web-based), radio and television
  • Conduct agency briefings, creative assessments and creative presentation to our  business stakeholders, production and distribution
  • Manage the Campaign Promotion Process and distribution matrix including development, kitting and distribution processes
  • Focus on continuous improvement of campaign processes and associated vendor processes
  • Support our marketing groups from Petro-Points, Car Wash, Convenience Retailing and Fuels
  • Deliver exceptional service levels and build effective collaborative relationships with stakeholders
  • Ensure that all branding and communication  guidelines are up to date and adhered to across all mass media channels
  • Manage numerous projects at once with tight timelines
  • Oversee the management, tracking and reporting of the communication expense budgets by channel

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Seven years of retail marketing communications experience across mass media and digital channels
  • Experience in distribution processes, merchandising and/or developing signage
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing. communications or a related discipline
  • Excellent partner management skills with the ability to build strong relationships with business owners and external agencies
  • Strong communication and non-authoritative leadership skills to collaborate positively with others
  • Exceptional time-management, project management and analytical skills to effectively run multiple campaigns in a fast-paced environment

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Downstream head office in Mississauga, located at 2489 North Sheridan Way
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • This is a temporary position for a period of approximately 12 months SAP:IND
