As the in-house expert in content planning and content optimization, the Marketing Specialist – Global Content manages the establishment and revision of the Marketing Unit Content Strategy in alignment with the Consumer Marketing Strategy. This role collaborates with Marketing Unit staff to prioritize content needs and oversees the procurement and/or production of all marketing content for global marketing programs.

This is a full-time indeterminate position, working 75 hours biweekly.

Essential Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Tourism, Marketing, Communications, or Journalism, or significant equivalent experience in a related discipline
  • Significant experience developing and evaluating consumer-centric, research-based content strategies
  • Significant experience procuring and producing marketing content and communications
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working in a multiple stakeholder environment
  • Experience with financial management, preferably in a government setting.

Candidates who have education, training and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.

As the ideal candidate, you will:

  • have a passion for excellence in story-telling, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team-based environment, and be highly flexible and able to adapt to change quickly
  • demonstrate the strategic thinking required to create effective content strategies for target markets
  • possess exceptional verbal and written communications skills, and the research and analytical skills required to create professional reports, strategies and plans, and exceptional marketing communications
  • have a strong understanding of destination marketing strategy, strategies and procedures from an economic development perspective, and a keen understanding of Yukon’s tourism potential
  • be able to develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with multiple clients and stakeholders
  • be able to develop and implement strategies and plans designed to meet the needs of Tourism Yukon
  • be proficient with communications and technological tools, and become comfortable with new technologies and systems easily.

Conditions of Employment: Valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s licence; and valid passport with the unrestricted ability to travel internationally.

Job Requirements: Willingness to travel within and outside of Yukon, often during evenings and weekends.
