Job Description

The Associate Director (AD), Single Gift Marketing will serve as a key member of the Direct & Digital Marketing (DDM) management team. The AD will have the mandate to help grow the Direct and Digital Marketing and will be responsible for helping to shape the one-time gift donation and product strategy.

The AD will oversee a diverse portfolio of programs, including SickKids Integrated Seasonal Campaigns, Get Better Gifts, Celebration programs and Lotteries. In this role, the AD will lead a team of 3 marketing professionals to execute innovative and results-driven marketing campaigns. The position reports to the Director, DDM.

 Duties and Responsibilites Include:

  • In collaboration with the Director of DDM, develop single-gift business plans and campaign strategies
  • Provide strategic leadership to the single-gift marketing team, aimed at maintaining and expanding diverse DDM programs

  • Oversee and develop end-to-end marketing campaigns from the brief to creative development and program execution, including all channels within the marketing mix (direct, digital, social, mass media)

  • Manage and evaluate key vendor, agency and partner relationships across a variety of campaigns and programs

  • Lead the development of revenue/expense forecasting, reporting and optimizing for all single-gift programs

    Work closely with all Foundation teams to ensure optimized operations of single-gift portfolio

  • Grow a high-performing team of marketing professionals and be responsible for work and resource allocation

  • Drive integration through fostering cooperative relations with internal teams & external partners

  • Participate in cross-organization teams and initiatives


The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • University degree required, preferably at a post graduate level

  • Minimum of 6 years plus relevant experience as an exceptional marketer with proven experience leading programs and campaigns that drove results

  • Proven track record as a skilled leader who motivates high-performing teams

  • Demonstrated ability to identify strategic business development opportunities and develop/lead such initiatives

  • Experience leading and developing end-to-end integrated campaigns and programs (direct, digital, social, mass media)

  • Strong business & financial acumen with advanced analytical and financial modeling experience

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience with building business plans and P & L management

  • Experience in developing data-driven direct, digital & mass campaigns that deliver tangible results

  • Experience working with and managing agency partners including contract management

  • Superior communication skills in addition to well-developed presentation abilities

  • Knowledge or experience with Not-for-Profit environment an asset
