Job Description

Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Marketing Communications Manager at the head office of a multinational manufacturing/engineering company, the Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for creating and delivering a wide range of initiatives from beginning to end, that effectively describe and promote the organization, its technologies, products and services. This position requires a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to take on multiple projects simultaneously, and be equally comfortable working independently or within a team.


  • Working with technical personnel, the successful candidate will be required to develop content as well as produce finished Marketing materials
  • This role requires competence in a variety of traditional and new media communication channels, ensuring all materials comply with company strategies and standards
  • Capable of developing various texts utilizing abilities such as: research, interviews and creative writing techniques
  • Possesses strong marketing materials production and delivery skills including: design, photography and videography
  • Solid understanding of online promotion including website development, search engine optimization, social media


  • Degree related to the Marketing Communications discipline
  • Familiarity with industry concepts, practices and procedures
  • Willing team player with excellent collaboration and people skills
  • Self-directed drive to complete tasks on time and on budget with good problem solving abilities
  • Good working knowledge of predominate industry software including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and WordPress
  • Proven track record of producing: branding, newsletters, news releases, data sheets, brochures, ads, web sites, speeches, speaker support, videos and trade show displays
