Senior Specialist, Merchandising Instore Execution (12m Contract)

 

The last three feet is what differentiates our brand in retail. This role will focus on retail merchandising solutions from the creation of environments, shops, fixtures, displays and POP to leading and managing the creative agencies/vendors along with being responsible for the related project budgets.

 

The incumbent is responsible for the initiation, development, coordination and implementation of retail merchandising solutions for all national retail and independent channel partners. This role will provide strategic direction on product merchandising for all CE products and play a critical role in go to market plans for new product introductions. The incumbent will also establish and maintain effective working relationships with product management teams, sales teams, national retail & independent channel partners along with the HQ retail marketing team.

Responsibilities:

Channel Support & Expansion – 60%

  • Partner with Sales teams to develop retail merchandising solutions for channel partners to increase brand presence and maintain premium positioning in store through;
    • New and/or retrofit of store fixtures
    • New and/or expansion/retrofit of shop-in-shop environments
    • New and/or expansion of product line-up assortments
  • Develop & maintain relationships with key retail merchandising contacts with national retail and independent channel partners in such areas as; retail merchandising, store operations and store planning & construction
  • Work with Product Managers to develop merchandising solutions for all CE products in store to support;
    • New products introductions
    • Ongoing product refreshes
    • New channel partners
  • Estimate scope of work, prepare project budgets (RFQ), create planned proposals (PP), execution orders (EO) and the procurement requirements through BQMS of vendor selection, bid/quote review, contract management and purchase order issue.
  • Brief and direct agencies for the creation of retail merchandising materials; fixtures & POP (print & digital)
  • Ensure all materials are reviewed, securing the required approvals (legal, brand, finance)
  • Work with the Field Marketing Team to share rollout plans and ensure understanding of merchandising solutions
  • Review execution results to ensure deficiencies are remedied quickly and ROI targets are achieved

Product Launch Planning & Execution – 20%

  • Lead the development, planning & execution of account specific plans for merchandising support of all new CE product launches for National Retail and Independent channels.
  • Estimate scope of work, prepare project budgets (RFQ), create planned proposals (PP), execution orders (EO) and the procurement requirements through BQMS of vendor selection, bid/quote review, contract management and purchase order issue.
  • Collaborate with MARCOM to develop an integrated communication plan to deliver a consistent brand and product message for all product launches
  • Brief and direct agencies for the creation of retail merchandising materials; fixtures & POP (print & digital)
  • Review all partner retail merchandising POP to ensure consistency with brand and product guidelines
  • Ensure all materials are reviewed, securing the required approvals (legal, brand, finance)
  • Liaise with HQ and/or NAHQ to source/acquire retail merchandising materials/assets
  • Serve as a key SECA contact with national retail and carrier channel partners for retail merchandising planning
  • Work with the Field Marketing Team to share launch plans and ensure understanding of merchandising solutions
  • Review execution results to ensure deficiencies are remedied quickly and ROI targets are achieved

Merchandising Support – 20%

  • Provide guidance to channel partners for CE retail merchandising and POP solutions making recommendations as required to improve the presentation of Samsung products
  • Prepare and share presentations, account plans, CE budgets, and reports for local management and HQ.
  • Link with HQ team to leverage retail marketing materials for use in channel and share best practices
  • Manage the maintenance of all retail environments, fixtures, displays and POP through agency partners to minimize investments for maximum ROI
  • Manage the inventory of fixtures, displays and POP to ensure adequate stock is available for channel expansion plans and obsolete materials are disposed of per SECA guidelines.
  • Maintain working knowledge of channel and competitive merchandising solutions for HA products and general retail best practices to leverage for SECA
Qualifications:

 

Education:

  • An Associate’s degree in in Marketing or Business or related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in the home appliance industry.

 

Knowledge:

  • In depth working knowledge of retail fixture/display/POP design, build and execution
  • Working knowledge of the consumer electronics industry
  • Should have working knowledge and understanding of general retail best practices
  • Superior project management skills, including the ability to prepare written plans and schedules, identify objectives, create promotional materials, coordinate and direct project teams, manage creative developers and manage budgets
  • Must have Microsoft Office Suite of PC software applications experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preparation skills.

 

Experience:

  • 5-8 years of experience in retail development with a successful record of delivering breakthrough retail solutions (shops, fixtures, displays, POP)
  • Proven record of managing multi-million dollar retail projects with full budget accountability
  • Ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations using a variety of methods
