Job Description

First, the short story: We’re growing in exciting ways throughout Canada, US and Mexico and we’re looking for a talented Marketing Specialist with exceptional writing skills to join our growing North American team. At Grodan, you can use your love of B2B product and solution marketing while being inspired that your company’s products will help solve the world’s upcoming food challenges. To know your customers you need to be with them, so you should like to travel throughout North America and occasionally to our head office in Europe. We currently have 2 openings - one Marketing Specialist Retail, the other, Marketing Specialist Commercial.

Commercial Focus; Main Job Tasks

  • Plans, coordinates and attends tradeshows, seminars and events throughout North America.
  • Assists in the development of strategic and results driven Annual Marketing Plans for each region.
  • Develops and implements an Annual Advertising Plan based on the analysis of media opportunities that are aligned with the Sales Objectives.
  • Coordinates on-line and print media campaigns, ensuring deadlines are adhered to and is able to liaise with various creative agencies.
  • Liaises with the Sales Manager(s) to schedule and send invitations for 6 Phase Seminars.
  • Manages marketing material, online initiatives and website content changes / updates
  • Assists in the development of press releases, advertising, web content, effective selling tools and overall communications consistent with established Brand Guidelines.
  • Researches and sources creative promotional items
  • Participate in projects for both North America based and global based initiatives
  • 25 - 35% travel throughout North America as well as the Netherlands required to attend events/tradeshows, customer visits and meetings.  

Retail Focus; Main Job Tasks

  • Plans, coordinates and attends tradeshows, seminars and events throughout North America.
  • Assists in the development and flawless implementation of solid channel marketing initiatives.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of social media activities.
  • Implements an Annual Advertising Plan based on the analysis of media opportunities that are aligned with the Sales Objectives.
  • Coordinates on-line and print media campaigns, ensuring deadlines are adhered to and is able to liaise with various creative agencies.
  • Manages marketing material, online initiatives and website content changes / updates.
  • Assists in the development of press releases, advertising, web content, effective selling tools and overall communications consistent with established Brand Guidelines.
  • Researches and sources creative promotional items
  • 25 - 35% travel throughout North America as well as the Netherlands required to attend events/tradeshows, customer visits and meetings. 

 

Specific Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, in Marketing, Business, or Communications
  • Event Planning certification is a strong preference
  • High level of competence with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project
  • Design software familiarity an asset

Experience:

  • 5 years Marketing experience
  • 2 years Event Planning
  • 2 years Social Media
  • Exposure to Canadian and US markets an asset
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)
  • Taking ownership of deliverables and working to deadlines
  • Driven, organized, competent, entrepreneurial
  • Able to manage many projects with competing deadlines, multitasking
  • Presentation Skills
  • Proven ability to work as a team member
