mdBriefCase is the leading provider of online CME (continuing medical education) in Canada helping healthcare practitioners enhance their professional practice and stay at the forefront of the latest evidence and protocols. Catering to health care professionals (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, specialists), mdBriefCase provides over 150 accredited eCME courses per year, supported by various association partners and sponsors.

We are now seeking a Director of Marketing to provide leadership to the marketing function at mdBriefCase.  If you are a solutions-oriented, execution-focused marketing professional with a strong channel partner background with proven success in concretely driving up membership and converting dormant members to active members, this could be the role for you!


Job Description

About the Opportunity

The Director of Marketing will lead channel/partner marketing activities and ensure that a broad range of marketing and communications tactics are executed in the Canadian marketing place as well as in key geographies abroad.  This role is less about strategy and more about successful tactical execution.  The successful incumbent will be adept at relationship building and developing strategic partnerships, as well as possess strong communication and management skills (written, verbal and presentation), and be able to successfully manage numerous initiatives simultaneously. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Engages marketing partners (e.g. medical organizations, disease groups, etc.) and leverages partnerships to promote mdBriefCase online CME programs. (40%)
  • Ensures member acquisition and retention tactics are executed by marketing team to ensure our membership is continuously engaged and continues to grow in Canada and within priority markets around the world. (30%)
  • Lead the marketing team, providing guidance on a range of marketing activities and tactical execution.  Coaches and mentors staff to meet Key Performance Indicators.  (25%)
  • Develops the annual marketing operational plan – outlining tactical elements that will be executed over the course of the year to fulfill marketing objectives around membership acquisition, retention and program support.  Adjustments made on a quarterly basis.  (5%)

  Essential Qualifications                                          

  • University degree in business or related discipline
  • Minimum 7 – 10 years’ marketing experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience leading a marketing team
  • Proven ability to identify and foster productive partner relationships
  • Proven collaboration and management capabilities
  • Demonstrable multitasking skills and a capability to juggle/balance numerous priorities
  • Solid operation planning skills, ability to adjust and amend as new priorities are identified
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a highly proactive “take ownership” attitude
