OntarioMD has been very succesful in supporting physicians in the selection, implementation and adoption of EMRs. A total of 11,650 physicians are enrolled in its programs.

OntarioMD has a proven track record of developing and implementing award-winning connectivity to EMRs int its Hospital Report Manager (HRM) and eNotifications applications that enhance the value of certified EMRs. OntarioMD will continue to add report types to HRM (e.g., Ontario Telemedicine Network telehomecare reports) and roll out applilcations such as eConsult, eReferral, eBooking and an EMR Dashboard, in addition to deploying the Ontario Laboratories Information System (OLIS), to physician practices.

To ensure that the future clinical and usability needs of physicians practicies are incorporated into EMRs to support the evolving health care environment, OntarioMD also manages the EMR Specifications and the EMR Certification Program.

Job Description

The Marketing Specialist is an integral part of the development and execution of marketing plans to reach targets and goals from brand awareness to product promotion. They will provide day-to-day marketing support for corporate brand awareness and a portfolio of OntarioMD products and services. The Marketing Specialist also provides support to the Director, Communications and Marketing, as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes creative marketing strategies, integrated campaigns and tactics to support brand awareness and a portfolio of projects/programs based on consumer insights and data
  • Provides input for the annual marketing and communications strategy
  • Conducts market research, including focus groups and surveys
  • Working with the Communications & Marketing team, writes and edits collateral to ensure consistency of messaging and inclusion of calls to action
  • Familiarity and use of campaign software for mass communications/promotion
  • Analyzes marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies and provides campaign metrics for the Communications and Marketing quarterly metrics report
  • Develops productive working relationships with internal project teams and provides them with marketing advice
  • Keeps track of program progress and project status by being a part of program and project teams
  • Researches and monitors customer requirements, habits, and trends in marketing, social media, mobile apps, channels, design and strategy
  • Reports any risks or emerging issues affecting OntarioMD’s reputation, and supports the Director, Communications and Marketing to plan, develop and execute timely and appropriate responses
  • Works with OntarioMD staff to keep the event content on the OntarioMD.ca website updated
  • Shares responsibility with the Communications and Marketing team for social media posts, submitting ads to OMA and external publications, and printing and distribution of collateral
  • Understands and complies with Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and applies
  • Understands and applies OntarioMD's Brand Guidelines and communications protocols and processes

Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • Post-secondary degree in Marketing, Business Development, or related area, or equivalent marketing experience
  • 5-7 years in a marketing role in a corporate environment or marketing health care or technology products
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing concepts, principles and tactics (traditional and digital) and consumer behaviours
  • Experience with market research methods and marketing analytics (e.g., web analytics, Google Adwords)
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios
  • Excellent writing, editing and oral communications/presentation skills and able to distill complex subject matter into plain language
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and an awareness of the political environment
  • Ability to assess marketing trends and evaluate options and approaches
  • Seasoned interpersonal and negotiation skills to build respectful, productive relationships and to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proven project management skills and commitment to follow through with tasks to completion
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization and time management skills, and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work effectively in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office applications required. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver) and web content management systems (CMS) is an asset
  • Basic understanding of the digital health landscape
  • Experience working in the health care and/or technology sectors is preferred
  • Knowledge of working in the public sector or broader public sector is an asset
