Manager, Channel Sales - Out of Home


This role is responsible for managing and developing the Digital Out of Home alliance partner network. Digital out-of-home (DOOH) refers to dynamic media distributed across placed-based networks in venues including, but not limited to: bars, restaurants, arenas, gas stations, transit systems, and public spaces. DOOH media benefits location owners and advertisers alike in being able to engage customers and/or audiences and extend the reach and effectiveness of marketing messages. It is also referred to as Digital Signage.


The Channel Manager’s top level goal will be to lead to realizable revenue streams and will be built around a logical and well defined framework. The intent of the role is to widen Samsung’s reach by establishing new indirect sales channels for the identified alliance partners, while enhancing the value proposition of current hardware offers.


The secondary goal of the programs will be to drive awareness and acceptance within the business segment of Samsung as a tier 1 business partner having incorporated complete solution sets with well recognized companies. This role is also responsible for ensuring that the Samsung brand and corporate social responsibility guidelines are incorporated into the business planning process

  • Build a process to both recruit new partners and leverage existing global partners while addressing gaps in solutions sets which will appeal to specific addressable markets
  • Prioritize and tier partners based on market potential and product/division strategy
  • Formulates “Win-Win” go to market models that leverages expertise of Samsung and partners
  • Negotiates agreements with channel partners
  • Develops targeted marketing and sales plans with channel partners and ensures that stated objectives are met.
  • Responsible for Product launches and training
  • Supports selling activities in other channels including direct sales
  • Demonstrates Samsung portfolio in partner and industry events and customer calls
  • Identifying new potential corporate accounts for Samsung’s line of LCD monitors, commercial printers, MFP’s and consumable products in identified and targeted markets, vertical, horizontal and geographic (Montreal).
  • Responsible for maintaining a pipeline and maintaining accurate account and forecast information
  • Representing Samsung Electronics Canada, Inc. in any public or private events designed to create demand and awareness for the entire IT product line up and all related products.
  • Market intelligence gathering related to share, revenue, segmentation, competitors and customers
  • Track solution sales and document the frequency with which the solutions are deployed to create awareness
  • Understanding of the Digital Out of Home market
  • Full understanding of direct and indirect sales channels as well as key business drivers
  • Outstanding presentation skills
  • Planning, organizing, summarizing and prioritization abilities are critical
  • Ability to clearly identify market differentiators
  • Excellent understanding of the professional display market
  • Personally driven to follow through on all key projects particularly post launch milestones including corrective action as required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Above average customer service skills. Technically inclined. Motivated with excellent time management skills. Above average supervisory skills.

  • Proven communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders

  • Ability to create and transform a vision into a solution

  • Motivated with a positive attitude and excellent time management skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to deliver a presentation to a group meeting or training session is preferred.

  • Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes

  • Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment

  • Bachelor of Commerce, BMOS or equivalent

  • 5-10 years managing partner, alliance programs in the mobile or IT OEM space

  • Strong sales background and ability to lend assistance to sales channels in order to deliver value at all points in the sales cycle

  • A track record of developing programs from the ground up

  • People leadership background with quantifiable sales achievements

  • Proven success in mixed matrix environments
