Manager, Alliance Display Partners


The Display Alliance Manager is responsible for managing and developing the Commercial Display alliance partners. Working with Samsung’s Display content management, Tizen solution providers and 3rd party hardware and accessory vendors, to grow Samsung revenue and mindshare within this channel.


The Alliance Manager’s top level goal will be to lead to realizable revenue streams and will be built around a logical and well defined framework. The intent of the role is to widen Samsung’s reach by establishing new indirect sales channels for the identified alliance partners, while enhancing the value proposition of current hardware offers.


The secondary goal of the programs will be to drive awareness and acceptance within the business segment of Samsung as a tier 1 business partner having incorporated complete solution sets with well recognized companies. This role is also responsible for ensuring that the Samsung brand and corporate social responsibility guidelines are incorporated into the business planning process.

  • Build a process to both recruit new partners and leverage existing global partners while addressing gaps in solutions sets which will appeal to specific addressable markets
  • Prioritize and tier partners based on market potential and product/division strategy
  • To train and do knowledge transfer of partner or HQ solutions to internal sales team members
  • Develop a standard partner rating format including: willingness to co-sell and /or co-market
  • Develop and execute detailed plans with key partners covering customer events, knowledge sessions, joint trade show presence and joint collateral
  • Establish specific quarterly goals for each partner engagement which would be measurable and mutually agreed to; set at a minimum quarterly review meetings with all partners
  • Maintain positive working relationship with partners and alliances at both a senior level and at a working level
  • Analyze and document market potential opportunities in a reasoned and replicable framework
  • Co-ordinate proof of concept projects with partners and customers
  • Responsible for coordinating multiple activities including interfacing with non-Canadian business units, other subsidiaries and headquarters (Korea)
  • Market intelligence gathering related to share, revenue, segmentation, competitors and customers
  • Track solution sales and document the frequency with which the solutions are deployed to create awareness
  • Develop and manage Display certification program.
  • Full understanding of direct and indirect sales channels as well as key business drivers
  • Outstanding presentation skills
  • Planning, organizing, summarizing and prioritization abilities are critical
  • Ability to clearly identify market differentiators
  • Excellent understanding of the professional display market
  • Personally driven to follow through on all key projects particularly post launch milestones including corrective action as required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Above average customer service skills. Technically inclined. Motivated with excellent time management skills. Above average supervisory skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in installing and deploying Professional Display solutions

  • Demonstrated proficiency in customizing and creating Professional Display entities

  • Demonstrated proficiency in understanding and implementing business workflows and processes

  • Proven communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders

  • Ability to create and transform a vision into a solution

  • Motivated with a positive attitude and excellent time management skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to deliver a presentation to a group meeting or training session is preferred.

  • Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes

  • Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment

  • Bachelor of Commerce, BMOS or equivalent

  • 5-10 years managing partner, alliance programs in the mobile or IT OEM space

  • Strong sales background and ability to lend assistance to sales channels in order to deliver value at all points in the sales cycle

  • A track record of developing programs from the ground up

  • People leadership background with quantifiable sales achievements

  • Proven success in mixed matrix environments
