Manager, Corporate Citizenship



The position requires the ability to both strategically lead and project manage Corporate Citizenship (CC) campaigns including directing day-to-day agencies of record and external partners across all business divisions. Candidate will provide strategic counsel and be the trusted citizenship expert to the Company, SECA CC collaborators and demonstrate CC value, with a high proficiency in plan management and activation.


The candidate must have a proven background in CC related fields with exceptional communications & project management skills, relevant education, and have the ability to work well individually and collaborate as part of a team.

  • Responsible for long-term strategic and plan development of SECA Hope for Children giving platform including key strategic CC programs: Look at Me Project (Autism), Solve for Tomorrow (STEM), Community Volunteerism and various initiatives with key partner The Hospital for Sick Children.
  • Leadership and management of program partners—including agency, industry, government & NGO stakeholders, project & event management, budget management, and reviews
  • Internal & external program coordination and promotion through traditional/ social media channels, public relations, and other communications through department and agency alignment (in partnership with Government Relations, Corporate Communications, and Divisions and Digital Marketing teams)
  • Budget management of overall CC budget and breakout of CC program budgets 
  • Develop and maintain a 3-year strategic plan for SECA Look at Me and Solve for Tomorrow in education and opportunity identification for whitespace and next generation positioning

  • Lead SECA CC presence including Look at Me and Solve for Tomorrow microsite input & profile on (act as lead internal client to external agencies and digital marketing team) to ensure relevance and integration into overall web site
  • Development of key presentations for SECA CC including Hope for Children, Look at Me and Solve for Tomorrow (external conferences, NAHQ/HQ & internal orientation/meetings, etc.)
  • Ensure SECA profile is authentically and credibly recognized among industry, government & NGO stakeholders in partnership with PR and GR teams.
  • Provide communication & PR strategic & plan support to direct report manager to ensure CC programs are profiled with media, internal and external Communications stakeholders  
  • Identifying relevant speaking and conference opportunities to promote CC programs, engaging existing and future CC partnerships to increase program exposure, etc.
  • Management and creative/content development
  • Regular monitoring of competitor programs to ensure program innovation
  • Create and maintain an annual Corporate Citizenship (CC) communications strategy & plan
  • Manage relationships with a variety of CC education, health, sustainability stakeholders including government & NGOs

  • Increase company visibility and establish greater corporate credibility through NGO stakeholders.

  • Lead  CC plans & key messaging and direct support CC events and profile.When needed, provide lead support as CC spokesperson.

  • Provide leadership strategic & plan support for all CC related events including internal SECA employee activities (E.g. ‘Day of Giving’).

  • Prepare and keep up to date CC materials including corporate profile, CC content, CC positioning, plan & industry background information.

  • Work closely on communications strategies with PR team, Government Affairs and HR and increase media profile.

  • Collaborate with & progress report with NAHQ and HQ team counterparts.

  • Lead budget management of external AOR firms.
  • Internally manage and report the CC budget, accomplishments & reviews.

Duties & Responsibilities % of time 

  • Program strategic planning and competitive monitoring, responsible for selecting the appropriate approach and support operational plans to deliver on program expectations (20%) 
  • Program implementation, including partner and agency management of Look at Me, Solve for Tomorrow and Hope for Children programs (50%) 
  • Working with internal teams & external stakeholders on program/event promotion (Corporate Communications, Government Relations. Media & external partners) (20%) 
  • HR CC collaboration & guidance for Employee Engagement & volunteerism (10%)


  • Degree or major in Marketing, Communications, Cause Marketing or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years of CC proven experience – experience in Education or Health fields valued
  • Experience in execution of Corporate Citizenship program on the corporate side, along with experience in working with partners (NGOs, government agencies, etc.) and vendors (event management, contest management) preferred
  • Skills required include project management experience, strong verbal communication & writing capabilities, strong relationship management, and ability to present.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Experience in managing an external agency preferred
  • Strong partnership skills to ensure Samsung profile externally
  • Creative and innovative thinker, quality driven with attention to detail
  • Resilient and flexible, easily adapts to changing priorities, plans and timelines, and commits to process follow through
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels within the Samsung Canada organization, including executive level, Marketing vendors and agencies. Collaborative, provenability to work with others, effective time management skills and multi-tasking skills from budgeting duties to CMO/President/CEO counsel.
  • Aptitude with basic Microsoft Office package – Excel, Word and PowerPoint
